 O Heraldo edition: 6th March 2026 |  KONKANI DAY - 21ST FEBRUARY 2026 Holy Cross Primary School's celebration was a powerful tribute to our roots. The lighting of the lamp set the stage for a day filled with Konkani recitations, displays of traditional occupations, and student-made exhibits. The absolute showstopper was the Goan sweet dish competition—a Master Chef-style showdown where parents turned traditional family recipes into culinary masterpieces. A true testament to the fact that Goa’s culture remains its greatest strength. |  PRERNA 4 - 27TH & 28TH JANUARY 2026 Holy Cross Primary School Siolim rocked the Prerna 4 Inter-school Competition, hosted by Holy Cross High School Bastora.  BRAIN BATTLE - NOVEMBER 2025 The maiden Inter-House Quiz “Brain Battle” was conducted in school, featuring engaging rounds on History, Geography, Current Affairs, and General Knowledge. Students from all four houses participated with enthusiasm and competitive spirit. Yellow House emerged as the winner, demonstrating commendable teamwork and presence of mind. The event proved to be an enriching learning experience, fostering curiosity and a deeper appreciation for Social Science. |  COASTAL CLEANLINESS DRIVE Our students enthusiastically participated in the Coastal Cleanliness Drive under the theme “Clean and Pollution-Free Beaches.” With great zeal, our students joined hands with volunteers to clean the beach, collect litter, and promote eco-friendly practices. It fostered environmental responsibility and strengthened the message that safeguarding nature is a shared duty for a sustainable future. |  SWACHHATA HI SEWA CAMPAIGN - 1ST OCTOBER 2025 Holy Cross High School observed the Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) Campaign under the initiative “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Sath” on 1st October 2025. Students and teachers actively participated in a one-hour cleanliness drive within the campus and nearby areas, spreading awareness on hygiene and responsibility. The campaign highlighted the importance of collective action in building a cleaner and healthier nation. |
 20TH AUGUST 2025 An Agriculture Exhibition was held at Holy Cross High School, Siolim on 20th August 2025 by the Agriculture students (N.S.Q.F.) of Std. IX and X. It featured wild and monsoon vegetables, ornamental and medicinal plants, seeds, and agricultural tools. Students also sold Kokedamas and Hibiscus plants. A video on Wild and Monsoon Vegetables of Goa by Dr. Anna George was screened. The exhibition was an enriching experience, showcasing students’ creativity and interest in agriculture |  O Heraldo edition - 8th August 2025 |  LOGISTICS - VISIT TO KEERTI VIDYALAYA TECHNICAL INSTITUTE The Logistics students of Std IX and X visited ISEAF’s Keerti Vidyalaya Technical Institute to explore vocational courses and skill-based career opportunities. The visit offered valuable exposure to fields like nursing, fashion design, mechanics, and more. It was an inspiring experience that highlighted the importance of practical skills in today's job market. |
 MERAKI 3.0 - 23RD AUGUST 2025 Holy Cross Primary School Siolim took home the 3rd Place overall trophy! Individual highlights include: 1st Place: Samuel D’Souza Gorvel (Whispers of Ink) 3rd Place: Trisha Palni (Mind Behind the Magic) 3rd Place: Skylar Fernandes (Beyond the Margin) Shoutout to our amazing mascot Vansh Mandrekar as Koby and Saichha Chodankar for her participation as Masha the Cartoon, for bringing the spirit! |  U17 GIRLS SUBROTO FOOTBALL 2025-26 Holy Cross High School Siolim played against St. Thomas Higher Secondary School Aldona, and secured 3rd place at the Bardez taluka level. |  TRILINGUAL ELOCUTION COMPETITION A house-wise Elocution Competition in Konkani, Marathi, and Hindi was held at Holy Cross High School, Siolim, on the theme “Different Occupations.” Students from all four houses showcased their speaking skills while highlighting the value of various professions. The Red House emerged as the winner. The event successfully promoted language proficiency, confidence, and career awareness among students. |
 VAN MAHOTSAV - JULY 2025 The Van Mahotsav week commenced with a sapling exchange activity, where students shared plants with classmates to promote environmental care and friendship. The initiative encouraged green values and responsibility towards nature. |  INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY - 21ST JUNE 2025 On International Yoga Day 2025, Holy Cross School-Siolim embraced the theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health." Our students and staff united for a guided session of asanas, breathing, and meditation, fostering health, mindfulness, and a commitment to sustainability. A truly serene and impactful day! |  STAFF ORIENTATION - 17TH JUNE 2025 The staff of Holy Cross High School - Siolim, attended an orientation at Xavier Retreat House, Baga on the theme “Finding Meaning and Purpose in Life.” Sessions focused on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, activity-based learning, Neurological Levels, and Ignatian Leadership. It was a reflective and enriching start to the academic year. |
 AGRICULTURE FIELD VISIT - 17TH JUNE 2025 The Agriculture students of Classes 9 and 10 from Holy Cross High School, Siolim visited the paddy fields and farm of Mr. Babuso Banaulicar in Siolim, followed by a trip to the natural spring at Oxel duly accompanied by their NSQF instructor- Mr. Pradyumn Bhave. |  FIELD VISIT TO GAS CYLINDER WAREHOUSE - 17TH JUNE 2025 The Logistics students of Holy Cross High School Siolim, accompanied by their NSQF instructor Mr. Brahmanand Siroji, visited the Hindustan Petroleum Gas Cylinder Warehouse at Oxel-Siolim, to gain practical exposure to warehouse and logistics operations.  ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS - 11TH OCTOBER 2024 Organized as part of the 'Road Safety week' by the Directorate of Transport, Government of Goa, the session was conducted by Sub- Inspectors of Police Bashir Mulla and Pandurang Sangelkar. They discussed the statistics of various types of road accidents in Goa and explained the reasons that lead to these accidents. They also urged the audience to come to the help of road accident victims. |  DECLAMATION COMPETITION - 19TH OCTOBER 2024 The students of Class 8 displayed their oratory talent by declaiming speeches of great orators, writers and motivators. It was a treat to hear the participants delivering their speeches, dressed as the original speaker. The Red House members Ms. Jasiel D’Souza & Mstr. Aydan Noronha emerged winners. Ms. Bhakti Pednekar secured the title of Best Speaker. The students were trained by their English teachers Mrs. Eufemia Fernandes & Mrs. Cecelia Tavares. |  CLEANLINESS DRIVE - 2ND OCTOBER 2024 Our school successfully conducted a campus cleanliness drive as part of the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' initiative on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The drive aimed at promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental consciousness among students. It involved students from all grades, along with teaching and non-teaching staff. The drive fostered teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility among the students. |
 VOICE IT OUT - 1ST OCTOBER 2024 To imbibe a true spirit of learning in students and to enhance their communication skills, an inter-house Public Speaking competition was held at school. We believe that 'ORACY' should be at the heart of every classroom. The participants delivered their speeches with great aplomb and to the best of their ability. The Yellow House members Ms. Aasmi Kothwale & Ms. Manasvi Vernekar emerged as the winner. Ms. Aasmi Kothwale also secured the title of Best Speaker. |  Congratulations to Teacher Sonali Chodankar of Holy Cross High School, Siolim on being awarded the prestigious 'Narsingh Rao Damodar Naik Literature Award' by Konkani Bhasha Mandal for her remarkable book Sahitya Yatra! Her contribution to Konkani literature is truly inspiring. Wishing her many more accolades in the future! |  SPELLING BEE COMPETITION An inter-house Spelling Bee competition was held for the students of Class 7. The Yellow House members Miss Riddhima Pednekar, Master Vinit Sharma, Miss Leezen Fernandes & Miss Kim Agarwadekar emerged winners. The competition showcased the talent and hard work of the students duly trained by their English teacher Mrs. Cecelia Tavares. |
 |  SSC RETREAT 2024 The SSC students attended a 1-day retreat at Old Goa on 26th August 2024. The students joined the retreat in the morning and the organizers immediately engaged everybody in a series of energizing, exciting communication and team building exercises. The students were accompanied by the Headmistress Sr. Julie Rodrigues and their Class teacher Dylan Fernandes. |  SCIENCE PROJECT COMPETITION - 24TH AUGUST 2024 The Green Heritage Eco Club of S.F.X. High School, Siolim organized the 32nd Annual Festival of Plants and Flowers with the theme "Plant a Tree, Keep Goa Green." In the Science Project Competition, Ms. Pearl Blossom Fernandes and Ms. Aasmi Kothwale, students of Holy Cross High School, Siolim secured second place for their project on the topic "Solanaceae Family", under the guidance of their Science teacher Mrs. Jessie De Souza. |
 'TELL ME A STORY’ A house-wise Story Telling competition was held for the students of Class 6. Storytelling promotes students' listening skills, imagination and creativity, emotional development, literacy development, curiosity and verbal proficiency. The Green House members Ms. Janelle Madeira & Mstr. Aqdas Mohammed emerged as the winner. Ms. Janelle Madeira secured the title of Best Narrator. |  INDEPENDENCE DAY - 15TH AUGUST 2024 Celebrating India's 78th independence with zeal and unwavering patriotism, our students were attired in tri-colour outfits, thereby enhancing the true spirit of free India. Nonstop patriotic songs echoed in the premises. The national festival was a resounding success as it instilled the feeling of pride in Mother India. |  INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION - 14TH AUGUST 2024 Holy Cross Primary school celebrated Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. |

 Holy Cross High School, Siolim defeated Holy Family School, Porvorim (2-1), paving their way into the Semi-Finals of the Subroto Tournament U17 (Boys) Junior Category. |  154th Death Anniversary of Mother Claudine Echernier |  LA FÊTE NATIONALE FRANÇAISE ON 14TH JULY 2023 Holy Cross High School Siolim celebrated 'La Fête Nationale Française', on 14th July 2023. The French students of Std 8, 9 & 10 commenced the day with prayer during the French assembly, commemorating the significance of 'Le Quatorze Juillet', in France. The students highlighted the life of the French Royals through an enactment on stage, which was illustrated in French. |

Holy Cross Pre-Primary bagged the 3rd place for Western Dance, while the students of Primary won the 3rd place for Indian Folk Dance. |

 ENGLISH STORY NARRATION COMPETITION This Inter-House Competition was conducted for the students of Std VI on 16th July 2022. The Red House were declared winners and Master Mayfern Mascarenhas was 'The Best Speaker' among the 8 participants. |  FRENCH DAY On the 14th July 2022, the Students of Std IX, taking French as a subject, celebrated the French Day meaningfully. They explained the importance of the day, the Anthem, and the significance of the French Flag. |  VAN MAHOTSAV WEEK - JULY 2022 In line with the observation of the 73rd Van Mahotsav 2022, the Forest Department organized tree plantation in the School premises. |

 WINNERS OF ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION On 26th January 2019, Tr. Eufemia Fernandes and Tr. Cecilia Tavares, were felicitated amidst the grand Republic Day celebrations, on winning the 1st and 2nd prizes respectively, for writing an essay on the Ecosystem in school education, at a complex School level competition. |  HOLY CROSS SIOLIM EX-STUDENTS' REUNION 2008 Headmistress Sr. Alzira Furtado welcomed everyone. Lighting of the lamp was done by the Ex-Headmistresses Sr. Alzira Fernandes, Sr. Flora and Sr. Jennifer.
